Keeping In Touch
Friday July 11th 2008, 11:17 am

Jeff has helped me develop a cancer blog so I could keep all of my many supporters informed. On July 3rd I had a Pet Scan at the University Cancer Center and it showed that my breast cancer has spread to my liver, lungs and possibly my sacrum. I was fortunate enough to get in to see Dr. Cleary on Tues. the 8th and he wasted no time. He draw a tub full of blood, took me off tamaxifen and put me on femara instead and with little delay gave me an IV of Zometa that actually causes the bones to become stronger and at the same time fights metastatic bone cancer. The good news is that it did not give me debilitating side effects like the last chemo. They are going to take a bone biopsy and I see Dr. Cleary again on August 5th so he can see if I am responding to treatment.

I would like to thank everyone that has been praying for me and bringing me great strawberry pie and otherwize being so supportive. I am blessed! And I am also thankful for three great kids and three beautiful grandkids.

Keep up your prayers and sent me good energy!

Love you all,

Betty
